blog 66

Every summer for the past eleven years I’ve gone to Emma Kaufmann Camp, which is a Jewish overnight camp in West Virginia. This weekend there was a camp reunion in Pittsburgh, which is where most of the campers and staff that go to the camp are from but there are also a lot of campers and staff from Columbus so there was a bus from Columbus to Pittsburgh on Friday that I was on. At the end of the weekend on Sunday there was a bus back to Columbus that was scheduled to leave at 9:30 that I was supposed to be on. At 9:35 Sunday morning I woke up to my phone ringing and it was the director of the camp wondering why I wasn’t on the bus, I told him I overslept and he informed me that the bus had to leave by 10:00 with, or without me. I had originally planned on staying with my friend Wyatt whose parents were going to take me to the bus Sunday morning but Wyatt and I went to this party and never made it back to his house. The good thing was that the place the bus was leaving from was only two miles away from the house we stayed at, the bad thing was that everyone who had a car had already left so I had to get myself to the bus before it left. What I did next was something I hope I never have to do again… to be continued
